We want to make planning your trip to the UK as easy and stress free as possible.

We have put together some useful travel advice to help you before your visit.

PASSPORTS

To enter the UK you will need a valid passport.

EEA citizens may use a national identity card.

If you are not an EU national you may need additional documents or a visa.

Please refer to the UK Visa and Immigration website for more information.

CURRENCY

The UK currency is the Great British Pound (GBP).

The symbol is £ and there are 100 pence in one pound.

Notes are available in £5, £10, £20 and £50.

Coins are 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2.

Currency can be exchanged at banks, post offices, hotels and exchange kiosks.

These are available at airports, stations and city centres.

We recommend comparing exchange rates and checking commission fees.

CREDIT CARDS

Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted across the UK.

American Express and Diners Club are less commonly accepted.

Cash machines are widely available and accept most international cards.

Charges may apply so please check with your bank before travelling.

GRATUITY

Tipping in the UK is optional.

It is based on your experience and level of service received.

Restaurants may include a service charge of around 10 to 15 percent.

Tour gratuity is also optional and can be given to your guide on the day.

DISABLED ACCESS

Most of our tours can accommodate wheelchair access.

We recommend checking with us before booking.

We can provide a wheelchair free of charge if needed.

Please give at least one week’s notice and this is subject to availability.

LANGUAGE

English is helpful but not essential.

Many attractions are visual and some offer translations.

Your driver guide will always assist and take care of you throughout your tour.

MOBILE PHONES

Please check with your provider before travelling to ensure your phone works in the UK.

You may wish to switch to an international plan.

Alternatively you can purchase a UK SIM card.

All of our vehicles have 5G Wi Fi available for your use during the tour.

SMOKING

Smoking is not allowed in indoor public places in the UK.

This includes train stations and enclosed areas.

Airports have designated smoking areas outside.

Smoking is not permitted in our vehicles.

Drivers will provide breaks if needed.

ELECTRICITY

UK sockets use three pin plugs.

You will need an adaptor for your devices.

These can be purchased at airports and shops.

Our vehicles are equipped with adaptors so you can charge your devices.

BANK HOLIDAYS

Bank holidays take place throughout the year.

These are public holidays where some businesses may be closed.

Many attractions and shops remain open but hours may vary.

We will confirm any changes in your itinerary if needed.
